Giovanni DeCunto
I had the pleasure of meeting the inspiring artist Giovanni DeCunto during my time in Boston. We played with light as he introduced me to his new experimental medium of UV reactive paint . The portraits and abstract designs were given new life in the dark where I saw a different dimension of his artistry. DeCunto has been able to recreate nature, exceptionally, since a very young age. He told me about his life growing up and how it shaped his mind. His interest in art grew stronger and stronger even just as a young boy. “I was born a painter”, he said. As he took a few steps back with me to view his newest work, the illusion of the masterfully painted scene was immediately present and clear like a day dream of a memory. I had the honor of witnessing his process and captured the moment the Artist decides his final touches.
